Mr. Magida graduated from Clarkson University (Potsdam, New York) in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution. He received his J.D. in 1973 from Brooklyn Law School (Brooklyn, New York) and in 1974 he was admitted to the New York State Bar  and the U.S. District for the Southern and Eastern District. 

In 1975, Mr. Magida was admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit and in 1978, to the U.S. Supreme Court.
